Eviction Notice Update

24 Sep

First, let me just say thank you.  Thank you so much for your sweet comments and support.  For letting me know that it is ok to cry and that I’m not the only one who has been here before.  It’s very easy to feel isolated and like a terrible mom-to-be for not loving the current state of things.  So thank you, thank you, thank you.

I promised an update, so here it is…

I managed to avoid breaking down completely at the doctor’s appointment yesterday.  Surprising, I know.

By the time I left the office, I was a couple cm more dilated than when I arrived.. I’ll spare you the details of that.  I’ll just say this: I was desperate.  And, owww.  That had a 50% chance of sending me into labor, but as you can see, I am still here.  I did have contractions all night, around 30 minutes apart, but nothing more than that.

Apparently, my doctor’s policy is to not even really discuss scheduling inducing labor until at least your due date, so I have an appointment on Monday, and then from there, I can be scheduled to be induced the following Monday.  Now, of course, the hope is that I’ll go into labor on my own before that. But if she remains as stubborn as she seems, I’d go in to be induced on October 4th.

So my September baby may very well become my October baby instead.  She’s already as stubborn as her daddy.

No commenting about how stubborn her mommy is…. 🙂

Love you Rebecca. We are praying for you. for peace, patience and safety for you and that precious baby girl. (the “we” included Marsha Viney and Jillian as they were asking about you and I gave them an update about when you are due and all.) If I was there I would just give you a hug…. NO words are needed, i think.

I totally understand what you are going through. Since my 3 were all late(24 days, 21days, and 14 days). I was never even a finger tip dilated at the drs appt. But they eventually came – we tried all the suggestions everyone gave to no avail. But am hoping your sweet girl gets there soon and all goes smoothly.

There is light at the end of the tunnel! Contractions and dilation is progress 🙂 I know how you feel…I hated everything about the end of my pregnancy with Regan. Seriously, I felt exactly how you are describing your current state. Surprisingly- I missed it when it was gone, weird as that may seem to you right now. I’ll pray that you go on your own this weekend!

Hey Rebecca! So let me first say that you are an excellent writer! I didn’t know that you had a blog until I saw your post of Facebook, and if for some reason the whole photographer thing didn’t work out you definitely have a future in writing! I mean its really good, I felt like you were having a conversation with me the reader, it was great! I read everything until I got to the bottom of the page!

Ok so about the prego thing, let me just say I I totally feel ya girl! Crazy enough I now have two little girls, and my pregnancies where um….interesting. Elizabeth was 3 days late and was 9lbs.6oz. And Emma was 5 days early (I was induced) and was 10lbs 7oz! The labor part was the easy part let me tell you that you have nothing to worry about there. Its the getting to the labor part that is the hardest. Especially with Emma, she was huge, she was sitting on my left hip so it either didn’t work, or I was in searing pain. With Elizabeth my feet swelled up to 3 times their normal size, and I gained 30 lbs. I was miserable the last month and thought I was going to have a mental break down if I didn’t go into labor soon!

Thankfully with Emma I had ultrasounds throughout the whole pregnancy because they wanted to keep track of her to make sure she was going well enough, because I have a thyroid problem. As it was we found out that a week before my due date she was over 10 lbs, so its a good thing that we had her early. So I am all in favor of being induced, the doctors will tell you all the pros and cons, and will always make sure to do whatever is best for you and the baby.

Look just know that you are very much NOT alone in this new adventure called mother hood! You always have a fellow mom and friend in me if ever you need to chat, and trust me girl that baby will get here, and then ( I know you probably hate to hear this) but all the pain will soon be forgotten as soon as they put that baby in your arms.

Keep your chin up girl! YOU CAN DO IT!

    Love ya,
    Abbie

ps, Epidurals are your friend, I had them with both of my girls and man do they make life SOOOO much better. Its up to you, but if they induce you, trust me you want to get an epidural, the labor pain is triple then that of natural labor and you will want drugs. just read up on spinal headaches, as it is a possibility…..
