And Once Again

20 Apr

Exam season is upon us. And wedding season is upon us. It’s funny, it’s the same every year – I turn the page in my calendar to April/May and I have to catch my breath a little bit. I really am trying to be a bit better about posting here, but the reality of it is, I’ll be lucky to have a moment to sit down in the next 2 months or so. That’s why I’ve been on a tear with my projects around the house, too. I know that if I don’t do it now, it’ll be months before I get back around to it.

Just a little sneak peek into what I’ve been doing:
-tiling the space above our shower built-in, and a little tile border on the rest of the bathroom
– painting our master bedroom
– painting the guest room
– refinishing (STILL working on this) our kitchen table

One quick note though… I hate it when I look at someone else’s blog/facebook/twitter/whatever and think that they’re trying to say that I’m not good enough because I haven’t done all that stuff with my free time. I just want to make it clear that I’m really really not trying to do that.

I had paint chips up on my walls for over a year. I couldn’t even pick a color. I stared at the flaking polyurethane finish on my 30 year old kitchen table for years before I decided to tackle it. I am definitely not the master of productivity. I just forsee my free time getting very very slim coming up, and there’s nothing like a little procrastination to help me do my best work under the pressure of a deadline.

And, lest anyone think I have it all together, let’s just remember that last week I couldn’t remember the last time I had bathed my child. Actually, that might be true again…

Yep.

Mother of the Year, right here.

So glad to hear about the bath…we had that happen twice in the last two weeks. Thora and Clara can be the stinky kids together 🙂

So glad I’m not the only one! I suppose there are worse things than being the stinky kid…. right? 🙂
